EMF sensitivity and holistic solutions

Electromagnetic field mitigation (or EMF) are invisible areas of energy, often called radiation, that help us power our day-to-day lives. It is all around us and I think that it is impacting all of us in different ways. I think that excess amounts of EMF is something that should be avoided.

When it comes to EMF, different people will have different reactions to it. For me, I don’t feel too much impact on my body when I am exposed but I have friends that are impacted. Because of this, I think it is important to be aware of EMF sensitivity and ways to reduce exposure.

  • For some people, electromagnetic fields can feel so overwhelming. It is so unnatural and abnormal and can have a lot of negative impacts on our bodies.
  • Different people have different levels of sensitivity towards EMF, which can impact how much precaution they take towards reducing EMF in their lives.
  • How you live can impact how much daily exposure your body has to EMF, so there are holistic solutions that I cover in this article.

When I first started to learn about EMF and how it can impact my own life, I did a lot of research that I think could help you make the best decisions for your family. Here are my favorite books that have helped us find holistic solutions for our home:

The three D’s of EMF mitigation

Our family is pretty low-key when it comes to reducing EMF in our home. I find that controlling the amount of exposure in your own home is the easiest way to keep your exposure low.

I recommend that you try to focus on the three D’s of EMF mitigation- Distance, Duration, and Disconnect.

  1. Distance: This refers to keeping electronic devices away from your body and choosing living spaces that are farther away from cell towers and other EMF sources. Increasing the physical distance between yourself and EMF-emitting devices can reduce your exposure.

One example would be charging your phone at night in another room and not at your bedside table.

  1. Duration: This involves limiting the amount of time you spend using electronic devices. The longer you’re exposed to EMFs, the greater the potential health impact. So, reducing the duration of exposure can be an effective strategy.

An example would be doing a task on a computer versus a cell phone to answer emails.

  1. Disconnect: This means preferring wired connections over Wi-Fi and other wireless technologies. Wired connections typically generate fewer EMFs compared to wireless alternatives. Disconnecting from wireless networks when not in use can help reduce overall exposure.

One example is that we turn off the wi-fi at night so that we aren’t exposed all night, or not having wifi at all and simply use an ethernet cord.

Natural EMF Protection Techniques

I love to focus on Holistic EMF protection in my home because that is where we spend most of our time and where we have the most control.

In my home, I have found that a few simple changes to your routine can have a big impact. Things as simple as turning off the Wi-Fi when it is not in use or not keeping your phone in your pocket can help you reduce the exposure that your body is receiving.

Key Facts About Electromagnetic Fields (EMFs)

EMF awareness for health is something that I am definitely passionate about sharing and here are a few key facts to help anyone living a low-EMF lifestyle

  • My research has shown that EMF can create a lot of radiation around the world, which can cause a lot of damage to our bodies.
  • EMF is much higher near certain structures, like cell phone towers. When looking for a home, I would recommend buying far away from any towers if possible.
  • EMF is typically known for disrupting the nervous system and is something that I encourage you to avoid.
